By booking an Infrared Sauna or Cold Plunge session, you confirm that you have read and understood the information below.
Infrared Sauna – Contraindications
Infrared sauna use may not be suitable for individuals with the following conditions:
Pregnancy
Severe cardiovascular disease (including unstable angina or recent heart attack)
Uncontrolled high or low blood pressure
Implanted medical devices sensitive to heat (e.g. some pacemakers)
Severe peripheral vascular disease
Active cancer or undergoing chemotherapy/radiation (unless cleared by your medical provider)
Multiple sclerosis or other conditions affected by heat sensitivity
Fever or acute infection
Heat intolerance or history of heat exhaustion or heat stroke
Severe dehydration
Open wounds, recent surgery, or acute injury
Use of medications that impair heat regulation or cause dizziness (e.g. some antihypertensives, diuretics, sedatives)
If you feel unwell, dizzy, light-headed, or uncomfortable at any time during a sauna session, you should stop immediately and inform staff.
Cold Plunge – Contraindications
Cold plunge therapy may not be suitable for individuals with the following conditions:
Cardiovascular disease (including heart disease, arrhythmias, or history of heart attack)
Uncontrolled high blood pressure
Raynaud’s disease or severe cold sensitivity
Peripheral vascular disease
History of stroke
Respiratory conditions affected by cold exposure (e.g. severe asthma)
Epilepsy or seizure disorders
Cold urticaria or hypersensitivity to cold
Open wounds, skin infections, or recent surgery
Pregnancy
Acute illness, fever, or infection
Cold exposure can cause rapid changes in heart rate and blood pressure. If you experience chest pain, dizziness, numbness, or shortness of breath, exit immediately and notify staff.
